Tax Audit Readiness and FTA Query Support

Prepare evidence, understand gaps and respond to tax queries in an organised way.

What this service covers

A tax audit is conducted by the competent tax authority to assess compliance. BWMC’s service is preparation and support: reviewing returns and accounting records, identifying gaps and helping organise responses. A diagnostic review commissioned by your business is not an official FTA audit and does not confer authority approval.

A review cannot guarantee that the FTA will not audit your business or impose an assessment or penalty. If you receive a notice, retain it and confirm its scope and deadlines promptly. Corrections, disclosures, reconsiderations and other procedures each have their own conditions.

Frequently asked questions

Is BWMC conducting an official tax audit?

No. An official tax audit is an authority process. BWMC can carry out an agreed readiness review and support your response to authority requests.

What should I do after receiving an FTA notice?

Keep the original notice, identify the entity, period, documents and deadline, and seek advice promptly. Avoid assuming a standard notice period applies to every situation.

Can a readiness review guarantee no penalties?

No. It can identify issues and improve the evidence available, but outcomes depend on the facts, legislation and authority decisions.

Should every historical error be corrected in the next return?

Not necessarily. The correct process depends on the tax, nature and amount of the error and the relevant rules. Assess the position before making an adjustment or disclosure.

Can you help with missing documents?

We can help identify the evidence required and reconcile available records. Missing documents and limitations must be disclosed appropriately; records should never be fabricated or backdated.
