What you receive

Accounting that supports everyday decisions

Bookkeeping creates the record of your business activity. Accounting turns those records into reports you can use. We agree the work around your business size, systems and reporting needs.

Organised transaction records

Recording and classification of sales, purchases, receipts and payments, supported by the documents your team provides.

Reconciled balances

Bank reconciliations and review of customer and supplier balances, with missing information and differences flagged for follow-up.

Useful financial reports

Profit and loss, balance sheet and agreed management reports to help you understand performance, cash flow and outstanding balances.

A reporting rhythm

An agreed monthly or quarterly reporting schedule, document handover process and review of questions with your team.

The right support for your current stage

You may need a regular bookkeeping service, additional capacity for an internal finance team or help bringing past periods up to date. We review your records before proposing the scope.

  • Starting out: establish your chart of accounts and document workflow.
  • Growing: maintain regular records and management reports.
  • Catching up: assess gaps, reconcile balances and organise historical records.

Agree additional services separately

Your proposal will identify whether payroll and WPS support, VAT returns, corporate tax preparation, software subscriptions, migration or catch-up work are included. An audit is a separate engagement.

For software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho Books or Odoo, we confirm the setup and support required before work begins.

Our four-step accounting process

    Review & scope

We discuss your business, transaction volume, software and existing records, then agree responsibilities and deliverables.

  2. 02

    Set up & organise

We arrange the document handover, review opening balances and set up or refine the accounting workflow.

  3. 03

    Record & reconcile

We process the agreed records, reconcile balances and raise questions about missing documents or unusual entries.

  4. 04

    Report & review

We deliver the agreed reports, explain key balances and identify the actions needed for the next reporting period.

Accounting & bookkeeping questions

What affects the cost of accounting and bookkeeping?

The quote depends on transaction volume, number of accounts and entities, reporting frequency, software and the condition of your records. Catch-up work, payroll and tax filings should be identified separately in your proposal.

What documents do you need to get started?

We typically start with company details, your current accounting reports, bank statements, sales and purchase invoices, and customer and supplier balances. We agree a document checklist and access arrangements before the engagement starts.

Can you bring overdue books up to date?

Yes. We first review the period involved and the available records. We then agree the reconciliation and catch-up work, identify missing information and propose a timetable based on the backlog.

Can I switch from my current accountant?

Yes. A planned handover helps preserve continuity. We agree the cut-off date and request relevant reports, reconciliations, supporting schedules and opening balances from your existing records.

Which accounting software can you work with?

We discuss support for platforms such as Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho Books and Odoo based on your current setup and requirements. Software subscriptions, configuration and migration are agreed separately where needed.

How often will I receive reports?

Monthly or quarterly reporting can be agreed according to your needs. The delivery timetable depends on receiving complete records and resolving outstanding questions by the agreed cut-off date.

Are VAT returns, corporate tax filings and payroll included?

They can be discussed as part of your engagement, but are not automatically included in every bookkeeping scope. Your proposal should state the services, filing responsibilities and fees before work begins.

Is outsourced bookkeeping suitable for a small business?

It can suit a business that needs reliable records and regular reports without maintaining a full in-house accounting function. The right scope depends on your transaction volume, internal team and reporting needs.
